Mahesh Chandaria is one of the most accomplished executives and business owners in East Africa. He holds an undergraduate Economics degree from City University London in the UK. He is the Managing Director of Chandaria Group and along with his family fully owns the Group. Mahesh actively overlooks the operations of all group companies.

From humble beginnings he has transformed the Group into one of the largest privately owned business Groups in East and Central Africa. He has spearheaded the Group’s diversification strategy and today the Group has operations in Tissue, Paper and Hygiene Products Manufacturing and Distribution, Real Estate, Flexible Packaging, Mining, Solar Energy Generation and Automobile Manufacturing.

The group operates in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, India and Dubai. It employs over 1,800 people across its operations. He is a member of the World Presidents Organisation (WPO) in Kenya. WPO is an exclusive global network of business owners and CEO’s and is a graduation from Young Presidents Organisation (YPO).

He is passionate about CSR and personally supports a number of individuals, schools, NGO’s and institutions across the country. His interests are music, theatre, football and interior design/architecture.
