Tanpack Tissues Limited was established in Dar es Salaam in late 1995. It is a group company of Chandaria Industries Limited of Nairobi, Kenya. In Jan 1996, it acquired a tissue manufacturing and converting unit which was under receivership with an objective to produce quality recycled tissue products by utilizing locally available raw materials (waste papers). Because of the nature of its manufacturing process and raw materials, Tanpack is an environmentally friendly industry. In the years 2005, 2009 and 2011, the company won President's Manufacturers Award in the medium scale industry category.
